From May 16th to May 18th , the event MEKARO allowed Esperanto enthusiasts from Ontario, Quebec and beyond to get together and discover the city of Toronto in a friendly setting.
MeKaRo in 2010 is scheduled to be held during Victoria Day long weekend in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec.

In many countries, year-end celebrations are coming, and, again this year, more than one million children in Canada and across the planet will write to Santa Claus. In Canada, most children write to Santa Claus in English, French or one of the twenty-five other languages spoken by Santa Claus and his elves.
Since 2002, Esperanto has been one of the languages used by Santa Claus. The Quebec Esperanto Society invites Esperanto-speaking children to discover this Christmas tradition by writing a handwritten letter to the following address (please indicate clearly the word ESPERANTO in your letter) :
This program, which aims at promoting literacy, is made possible by Canada Post's hard working elves.
A.R.E. stands for Aŭtuna Renkontiĝo de Esperanto, a meeting of North-Eastern Esperantists which lasts over Canada's Thanksgiving and the U.S. Columbus weekend. In 2007, the gathering will take place from the 5th to the 8th of October.
